TURTLE BAR COOKIES

1 lb. caramels
1/3 c. evaporated milk
German chocolate or chocolate cake mix with pudding in the mix
1/2 to 3/4 c. melted butter or margarine
1/3 c. evaporated milk
6 oz. chocolate chips
1/2 to 1 c. chopped nuts

Melt together the caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk on low heat. Combine cake mix, melted butter, 1/3 cup evaporated milk to make batter. Spread half of the cake batter in a greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 6 minutes. Sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts over hot baked cake. Then pour the melted caramel mixture over the cake. Drop the rest of the cake mix over by teaspoonfuls. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
